The classes listed below are approved workshops for fulfilling the annual Built Green educational requirement for project certification.

Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead Training
Training: Aug. 12 and 13, Bellevue
Re-Training: Aug. 19, Bellevue
CESCL certification is required in the state of Washington by the Washington State Department of Ecology for personnel responsible for construction stormwater inspections and sampling at construction sites. Students who complete the course will receive a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) card, which is good for three years.

2014 Built Green Conference
Dream Green, Imagine a Sustainable Future

Sept. 18, Technology Access Foundation's Bethaday Community Learning Space, Seattle
The 2014 Built Green Conference will include a full day of networking and learning about the latest in green building trends. The primary goal of the event is to educate developers, builders, remodelers, architects, real estate professionals and the public about building sustainable communities.

Nico Larco, AIA is an associate professor in the Department of Architecture and is affiliated faculty in Planning, Public Policy, and Management at the University of Oregon. He is also the co-founder and co-director of the Sustainable Cities Initiative.

Lucy Moore will mediate Reducing Construction & Demolition Waste: Finding the Way Forward, a session that will bring together government, contractors and the construction and demolition processing industry to find common ground in reducing the amount of construction and demolition debris going to landfills.

All New Single-Family Projects will Use 2014 Checklist
On Dec. 9, 2013, the Built Green Executive Committee approved an update to the single-family checklist. Beginning on July 18, 2014, all new construction, single-family and townhome projects will be required to adhere to the new statewide New Construction Single-family/Townhome Certification checklist.
