High Prices Continue to Challenge Market Affordability

In November 2024, the median price of single-family homes and condos reached $837,350 in King County and $760,000 in Snohomish County. Single-family homes alone saw a 4% increase in King County, rising from $885,500 to $925,000, and an 8% increase in Snohomish County, climbing from $725,000 to $784,975.

Campaign School is presented by the Affordable Housing Council (AHC) of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties and Seattle King County Realtors. This one-day event is open to candidates or those helping candidates running for office. Campaign funds may be used to cover the cost of attendance.

The number of multifamily permits pulled in King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties rose 53 percent during the first quarter of 2017, compared to the same period last year. Single-family permits declined 8 percent. Meanwhile, King and Snohomish counties continue to see less than a months’ supply of housing inventory for sale during April. The low supply coupled with strong demand has continued to drive home prices up.
