July Builders Bulletin: Population growth slows in region

The Puget Sound region saw its population growth moderate over the past year, according to new population estimates from the Office of Financial Management featured in the July Builders Bulletin. As of April 1, 2026, King, Snohomish, Pierce and Kitsap counties added 28,900 people in the previous 12 months, down from the prior year’s increase of 50,400. OFM also reports that the state added 41,000 housing units from April 2025 to March 2026, with King County representing 35% of the state total.
